Welcome to PaperSnap. Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using our mobile application.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using PaperSnap ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

PaperSnap is a document scanning application that uses artificial intelligence to:

Scan and capture document images
Extract event information (dates, titles, locations) from documents
Allow you to add extracted events to your device's calendar

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

You may use the App as a guest with limited features, or create an account using Google or Apple sign-in for full functionality.

3.2 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for:

Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
All activities that occur under your account
Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

Use the App for any illegal purpose
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or networks
Upload malicious content or attempt to exploit the service
Use the App to scan documents you do not have the right to access
Circumvent any usage limits or restrictions

5. Free and Premium Services

5.1 Free Tier

The free tier includes limited monthly scans. Scan limits reset at the beginning of each calendar month.

5.2 Premium Subscription

Premium subscriptions provide unlimited scans and additional features. Subscription terms:

Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your device's app store settings

5.3 Refund Policy

Due to the nature of digital services, refunds may be limited once the service has been used (e.g., document scans performed). Refund requests are processed according to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store policies. For users in Korea, withdrawal rights under the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce apply as specified by law.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Property

The App, including its design, features, code, and content, is owned by PaperSnap and protected by intellectual property laws.

6.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of the documents you scan. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to process your documents for the purpose of providing the service.

6.3 Data Usage Rights

You acknowledge and agree that:

We may collect and use anonymized event data (extracted text, document categories, keywords) for analytics and service improvement
We do NOT store or use your original document images for any purpose beyond immediate processing
Anonymized usage data may be used to improve AI accuracy, understand usage patterns, and enhance the service

7. AI-Powered Features

7.1 Accuracy Disclaimer

The AI-powered event extraction is provided "as is." While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that:

All events will be correctly extracted
All dates, times, or locations will be accurate
The AI will correctly interpret all document formats or languages

7.2 User Responsibility

You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all extracted events before adding them to your calendar.

8. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect and use your information.

9. Disclaimers

9.1 "As Is" Service

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

9.2 No Warranty

We do not warrant that:

The App will meet your specific requirements
The App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
The results obtained from the App will be accurate or reliable

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PAPERSNAP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
Any loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill
Any damages resulting from missed events, incorrect calendar entries, or reliance on extracted information

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PaperSnap from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

Your use of the App
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any third-party rights

12. Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service, except as provided in Section 14.2 regarding premium subscribers.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Termination

14.1 By You

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.

14.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms. For service discontinuation not caused by user violation, we will provide at least 30 days advance notice. Active premium subscribers may request refunds for unused subscription periods through their respective app store.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Seoul Central District Court as the court of first instance.
